Configuration

Atoll Core is the central module that supports the user interface, the GIS features, the propagation modelling engine, all data management services, interfaces, and software development tools. All technology modules run on top of Atoll Core.

Atoll 2.8 features Automatic Frequency Planning tools and Automatic Cell Planning tools that deliver, in association with the technology modules, a comprehensive set of automatic network design and optimisation functionalities.

In addition to the modules offered by Forsk, specialised products are available from 3rd party developers. Check the technology partners page for more information regarding 3rd party products.

Atoll Microwave is a comprehensive Microwave Link planning software. It is based on the Atoll Core platform and can share the site database with Atoll radio-planning configurations. See the Atoll Microwave page for more information about this product.

The technology matrix below shows the modules suitable for each technology. Several technology modules can be combined in the same Atoll configuration for planning integrated multi-technology projects.

Minimum recommended configuration for workstations or laptops:

• Dual-core processor with 2 GB of RAM
• Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista

Relational Database Management System (not required for standalone configurations):

• Oracle 9i and 10g
• Sybase Adaptive Server V12.5
