Forsk is looking for a System Engineer (Software Solutions & Support Integration) to join its System team in Chicago. This role is focused on the deployment, integration, administration, and technical support of Atoll in customer and prospect environments. The engineer will work closely with customers, prospects, pre-sales, support, and internal technical teams to ensure successful implementation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and system integration. The role may also involve supporting Naos, Forsk’s automation-focused platform, as customer needs increasingly include automation, workflow orchestration, and deployment/process optimization.

Job description

Main responsibilities include:

  • Support the deployment and upgrade of Atoll in customer and prospect environments, remotely or on-site
  • Help design and recommend optimal system architectures for Atoll, including thick-client and thin-client deployment models
  • Deliver Atoll administration training to customers, remotely or on-site.
  • Participate in technical support activities for customers and prospects, with a focus on system integration, licensing, databases, and deployment-related issues
  • Develop scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks
  • Support both pre-sales and post-sales activities, including technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, deployments, upgrades, and production support
  • Contribute to Naos-related activities when needed, particularly around automation, integration, deployment support, and customer enablement
  • Work flexible hours when required to support customer deployments, migrations, upgrades, or critical support activities
  • Use the following platforms, tools and technologies within our technical environment: 
    • Windows & Linux environments
    • Virtualised environments: VMWare, Citrix 
    • Databases: Oracle, SQL server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
    • Scripting and automation: Python, PowerShell, and Bash
    • Public Cloud Services: AWS, Azure & GCP
    • Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes are a plus
       

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.  The ideal candidate will have initial experience in system administration, database administration, software deployment, or technical support for enterprise software solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills, customer-facing communication skills, and the ability to work across software, system, database, and infrastructure topics are important for this role.  Must be fluent in French. 


Location: The position is based in a desirable downtown Chicago, IL location.
